Hi I’m Gretchen Leonard, LISW-S and my focus in therapy is to help adults gain control over their emotions and past traumatic experiences. These experiences can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed and out of control. So often as adults, we compartmentalize and push through painful emotions to get through each day. Over time, this can weigh you down and prevent you from enjoying and living your life to the fullest potential. I hope to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences and gain insight into patterns of thinking and behavior. In doing so, I will be able to challenge any “stuck” beliefs and coach you on how to make changes and practice skills to better manage distressing emotions. Through this work, it is my goal to help you heal so that you can cultivate the life that you truly want to live. I have over 15 years of experience utilizing evidenced based treatment models including DBT, EMDR and CBT. My therapeutic approach uses warmth and humor, yet I tend to be more direct as I ultimately want to see you grow.
